Client Reviews
“I loved my portraits from Ian. He captured my personality and did it in a flattering way 10/10 recommend. “
— Teresa Lo , comedian/small business owner“Fantastic photographer across the board.
His studio headshots capture the subject perfectly in the way they envision themselves. Ian is a great lead when it comes to posing or choosing colors but will still default to exactly what you want.
He's also SO quick with galleries and edits. Thank goodness.”
— Corinne Decost, actress“Ian made me look so beautiful and charming it has actually convinced others of such. People TRUST me now. They let me watch their dogs, kids, cats even! They have no idea what I’m plotting… and they never will, because these headshots are so dang cute. 🥰”
— Shelby Quinn, comedian/filmmaker
FAQ
-
Yes, a non-refundable 50% deposit and signed photo agreement is required to hold the shoot date.
-
Great question! I rent from a studio in Burbank, CA right next to Costco/bermuda triangle of AMCs. I’m open to other locations, studios and travel (subject to different pricing).
-
I estimate deliverables within one 1-2 weeks of the photoshoot depending on scope. If there is any predicted delay due to workload/travel, I’ll inform you.
Same for retouches after selection has been made.
Rush delivery is available as an add-on depending on my availability.
-
A “look” is a general backdrop/clothing setup. A jacket on/off? No sweat, same look.
I offer unlimited looks within timeframe booked. An hour session is typically 1-3 looks.
-
Ah, the classic question! I consider headshots for the primary use of acting/business, while portraits are more styled/branding/editorial in nature.
Literally, headshots focus mostly focus on the head while portraits may be full body/props/set pieces/etc.
I start with both at the same pricing, though portraits may be subject to different pricing based on the project’s needs. Contact me if you want a quote.

I can provide referrals for artists I’ve worked with before, but booking/rates are between you and them. I do not provide bundle deals at this time.
Dudes can (and should!) rock makeup too! It only makes the final product look better. You can “get away” without it, but you get what you invest in.

All “proof” images are delivered as high-resolution JPEGs via Pixieset gallery. These images are lightly edited in Lightroom (mostly exposure/color balancing) with the best selects culled.
Based on your package, you get a few complimentary retouches which may be selected from the Pixieset Gallery.
Sorry, no RAW/unedited images provided.

Through Photoshop and Lightroom, I manually use frequency separation techniques with light dodge/burn as needed.
This adjusts some imperfects including removal of blemishes, lightly smoothes skin texture, removes flyaway hairs and naturally blends your skin tone. No extreme edits such as changing hair color, body type, etc.
The goal is to capture you naturally, looking like yourself on your best day.

Yup! Additional retouches are available at $50 per image. Turnaround time is based on my availability.
-
99% of the time, no!
There is some rare assistance needed to remove distracting objects such as a lightswitch, exit sign etc, but only as a tool when required. This is considered ethical and only with Adobe programs.
All of my retouching is done manually through Photoshop and Lightroom.
-
I do not offer any discounts at this time.
-
Sure! As long as they are respectful and don’t interfere with the photoshoot, feel free to bring your partner/best friend/archnemesis.
-
Unlimited, perpetual usage for self-promotion and professional purposes.
Basically, whatever you want as long as you aren’t reselling the image.
This is specifically for headshots, not necessarily for other studio work (branding, album covers, etc).
-
Up to you and your representation’s preferences! I provide a generic styling/prep guide after booking is confirmed.
I’m happy to make some suggestions if you bring alternate wardrobe options on-site based on the background/lighting/etc.
